19th Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (S.L.S.) Annual Meeting and Endo Expo: New York, September 01-04

On behalf of The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS) and the International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy (ISGE), I invite you to join our colleagues from around the world at the 19th SLS Annual Meeting and Endo Expo 2010 Jointly with the ISGE Regional Meeting. We have planned an exhilarating, information-packed, challenging conference. This annual meeting is known for gathering specialists from around the globe for professional development, interaction, debate, and the sharing of experiences in a format not found in other conferences.
The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons is the place where general surgeons, gynecologists, urologists, and other specialists meet together to share their common experiences and knowledge in minimally invasive surgical techniques.
This year’s conference offers several exciting additions and changes. Highly distinguished and reputable faculty will be lecturing in six Master’s Classes, including the all new courses “How to Enhance Laparoscopic Skills and Improve Your Score Prior to Laparoscopic Skills Testing,” and “Increasing Your Repertoire in the Office: Moving Procedures from the Hospital to Your Office and Office Cosmetic Surgery.”
Multidisciplinary Plenary Sessions will address four current topics:
“Adhesions/Adhesion Prevention Jointly with ISGE;” “Office Cosmetic Procedures;” “Credentialing and Competencies in MIS;” and “Quality and Error Prevention in Laparoscopic Surgery?”
For step-by-step complications management and procedure setup and execution, be sure to attend the SLS video sessions “Surgical Surprises” and “SLS Film Challenge.” During these video sessions, a panel of invited experts will invoke their specialty backgrounds to offer a multispecialty approach to difficult procedures and to discuss surgical accidents, mishaps, and surprises.
We are proud to have as our Honorary Chairs Donald Risucci, PhD, and Ornella Sizzi, MD. A quick review of the conference agenda will give you an idea of the many educational opportunities that await you including exceptional laparoscopy updates, scientific papers, posters, open forum presentations, and video submissions covering multiple specialties and topics.
The last day of this year’s conference will give attendees an opportunity to enjoy a sit-down breakfast with SLS’ 2010 Excel Award recipient, Douglas E. Ott, MD, MBA. Breakfast will be followed by the ever popular Future Technology Session.
Directed by Richard M. Satava, MD, this session will havea joint teleconference presentation with the Society for Medical Innovation and Technology (SMIT) Video Sessions and will feature keynote speaker, Tod Loofburrow, President–Healthcare
Business Unit of iRobot.
SLS looks forward to seeing you and your family in New York, NY, this year’s exciting conference destination.
